You don’t see many of these on the road and I believe that is a lot of the appeal to it. This is what the TEAM has to start with. It has a 5.3 LS with a 4l80 so it has a good base to start with but they want the next level. In the customers words ” 750 horsepower to the wheels ” so that is where this one will be headed. Along with AC new interior and all the other good things to bring it together. So keep your eyes on this build to see how it turns out.

The customer was involved in an accident where the Ford was left pretty banged up. With the damage it received in the accident the frame was in bad shape. The Ford received a complete new roller chassis from Pete & Jakes. The new frame was assembled and the correct modification’s were made to swap the sbc and th350 over to it’s new home. A few other things were in order to work with the new frame such as a completely new exhaust to clear the extra bracing in the new chassis. The customer also had the team at Auchey Restorations get the fiberglass body in check in order to paint the body while it was apart. This was a 3 month turnaround from start to finish. 1951 Chevrolet Styleline https://auchey.com/2021/11/1951-chevrolet-styleline?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=1951-chevrolet-styleline Thu, 11 Nov 2021 23:18:58 +0000 https://auchey.com/?p=395 Read more]]>

With this 1951 Chevrolet Styleline, this car was not one you would look at to say it was in need of restoration. With that said this customer wanted to build this 51 into he own! Essentially a HOT ROD in all sense of the word.

hot rod/ˈhät ˌräd/ : A motor vehicle that has been specially modified to give it extra power and speed.

So it was set that this car would be like no other 51 Styleline out there. With a very nice car to start with the decision was made to do it. One of the first calls made was to The Roadster Shop to order a REVO IFS chassis. With that foundation to build from the car received a LS3 engine and 4L75e transmission. A GM Performance connect and cruise. This car will be a true ultimate cruiser with all of the modern touches to bring it from the 50’s to present day. With fuel injection air conditioning power steering power disk brakes power windows seat heaters and much more. Along with many custom touches to the car from the Kindig door handles to the 55 belair headlight brows and the rear wheel openings. True meaning of a Hot Rod. A few examples on this 51 Styleline that the TEAM at Auchey Restorations are able to bring to life.

The start to the mock up process.

Stay tuned for more updates here!

1992 Mustang GT https://auchey.com/2021/11/32-ford?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=32-ford Thu, 11 Nov 2021 20:12:39 +0000 https://auchey.com/?p=336 Read more]]>

This one here is special! This 1992 was brought to the TEAM at Auchey Restorations for a complete top to bottom restoration. This 92 GT was the customer’s first car and has been a part of his family since he was sixteen! The car had never left him but the thought had crossed his mind. With life, family, kids and job it get’s to a point where the car’s take a backseat. Thankfully this one he didn’t let go. So when it came time to decide on what to do with the car it was on the TEAM to bring this 92 GT back to life in more ways than one.

How it came to us.

So with the starting point established a plan was set and the process was started. With the car originally being such a part big part of the customer’s life we didn’t want that to get lost in the build. So it was set to keep it original look and feel but add some late model drivability, reliability, and POWER but not lose the soul of the car.

With a lot of the mock up done and making thing’s work as the should an look like it was done that way from the factory it was time for body and paint.

With many hours, blood, sweat, tears, and a few choice words it was complete!

With all this work the entire TEAM put into this 92 GT the customer was truly blown away! We all know the saying good thing’s come to those who wait, this is that saying in a 1992 Mustang GT!

Gen 2 Coyote 5.0 Engine

6 Speed 6R80 Automatic Transmission

Ford Performance Control Pack

428 RWHP

Maximum Motorsports K member and suspension components

Dakota Digital instrument cluster

Power By The Hour accessory drive kit

Kooks Long Tube Headers

Just a few of the key components

Here is a touch of the customer’s story about the car:

The car is my first, it may seem like every other Fox Body out there, but it has a special history for the family. My father found the car, put the down payment down and then handed me the keys and the payment book (Payment was $302/month, sort of perfect). It was “used” but basically brand new and certainly new to me and I fell in love. It was my daily driver through the 90s. I proposed to my wife in the car and drove my wife and soon to be son to the hospital in the car (his first ride had to be in a Mustang). I strapped the kids in and did burnouts for fun occasionally. However, over time, one small water leak compounded problems and without the money to fix it right, it slowly deteriorated. I was ready to let it go, it was sad to look at it. My wife, my mom, my kids said “No, save up, keep it, restore it eventually”.

Almost ten years go by and I’m talking to a friend who stopped by and said “I know a guy, when you’re ready let me know.” I was ready. I called Jared, explained the situation, he came down and looked at the car and said we can do this. The car was in good shape according to him (I thought he was crazy). No accidents, some rust but fixable, a great foundation. We met several times to talk about the vision. We toyed with stock or doing a Coyote swap. I loved the car as stock but the Coyote was tempting. After much debate, I said we could do the Coyote swap but with one caveat it had to look stock. I wanted it to the untrained eye to look like a true 1992 Mustang GT, no cowls, stock wheels, factor interior. He said got it, “We’ll make it look like Ford built a Fox Body today”. He picked the car up and off it went. A great decision with no regrets and it’s the only possession I have called out in the Last Will.

With that said, we are here at Auchey Restorations to bring your Vehicle like this 92 Mustang GT to the level of your dreams!
